Yeah, there was that.

My friend Jaymes from SFCC now lives in Honolulu. He wasn’t going to be able to come and then last minute I got the great news he was coming – he said he couldn’t miss it.

Jaymes – What’s the dress code?
Me – Well…..it’s a wedding!  It’s not a fancy wedding but it is a wedding.  Use your best judgement.
Jaymes – Can I wear my gorilla suit?
Me – Yes.  That would be perfect.

That’s how that happened.

I love that he got nervous though.  I guess he didn’t come in with it on.  Instead, he found D of all people.  The one person he knew he could ask if it was ok and get the answer he wanted.

I’m shaking my head, smirking right now.  What a day.

We couldn’t have pictured it any more perfect. All of our favorite people under one roof – what an amazingly overwhelming feeling of support, fun and so much love.  More than I thought even possible.

We had a really awesome photographer that not only caught some really great moments, he was just fun to hang out with all day.  Here’s his blog post of our wedding and below are some of my favorite photos.

And then there was the photo booth.  We LOVED the innocent photos at the beginning and then as the night goes on and more drinks have been consumed the truth comes out.  BOOBS!?  Are we eight?!  Our kids are going to love flipping through our wedding guest book and learning all about their Aunties and Uncles

What’s your favorite photo booth shot?

The slideshow and the toasts are my two favorite parts of a wedding. I feel like you get to know the bride and groom THAT much better. If the toasts are done right, I usually end up getting that “oh they are so sweet, I couldn’t be happier for them” knot in my throat. Same with the slideshow. Sometimes, maybe you’re friends with the groom and you don’t know the bride super well, but you’re at their wedding and then, in a ten minute slideshow you felt like you grew up with them. That’s when you were able to see exactly why they are so perfect for each other and how in love they are. I don’t really know why it touches me in such a way but I knew I wanted to have a slideshow and toasts at our wedding. Even if you didn’t get the “oh they are so sweet” out of our toasts, I think there were a few laughs when my sister told everyone I farted on her head when we were kids. She will pay.

Because of some technical difficulties, the music on the slideshow didn’t work. We still got to show the fun pictures but here it is again, in all it’s glory, with the music as intended.

Have I mentioned KMJ has mad editing skills? We didn’t have a videographer and apparantly we didn’t need one because KMJ has a flip. I am so grateful for all the fun clips she and BK got throughout the night. I’m seeing stuff from a different perspective…and for the first time…So much fun!

I STILL can’t believe this happened.  You guys are SO FREAKING AWESOME.

And here’s the real deal.  Flash Mob IN ACTION.  You guys got us so good.  I love it!  I love you!  I am still speechless.

I wonder if there is such a coined phrase.  If not, I need to coin it.  I wouldn’t call myself a bridezilla by any means but I was slightly obsessed reading wedding blogs, looking for inspiration.  It became part of my daily routine at work.  Log on.  Read Gmail.  Read work email.  Read my favorite wedding blogs.  Maybe return some phone calls.  Read more blogs.  I’m only slightly exagerrating.  Sort of.

Before we left on the honeymoon, we went into work for a couple of days to tie up loose ends, hand things off, etc.  I found myself really sad not having a reason to look at all of the pretty wedding blogs.  I don’t really need any inspiration, given our wedding has happened.  My idea for becoming a wedding planner was short-lived when I realized it’s really only fun to plan your own wedding, not someone’s you don’t actually know.  And now I find myself wondering what will occupy so much of my time.  I might actually have to work?  Bleh.

And what will Kevin and I talk about now that I’m not harassing him to design this or create that?  All we’ve talked about for a good year is how to make our wedding a true reflection of us; and while I think we did a really great job of that, now what?  You mean there’s more to life than dish towell napkins, photo booths and burlap?  I suppose this is our first test as husband and wife.  After the wedding high and honeymoon sun-kissed skin, now what?  I think I need to take a page out of honeymoon relaxation land and just go with the flow.  I need to find a hobby…

I am kind of anal about keeping the blog chronological.  You may have noticed I’ve lied about dates in the past just so I’m in sequence.  Well, there are too many fun wedding stories (by stories, I mean pictures and video) to share and I don’t want to share them while sitting in a $5/minute internet cafe and more importantly, while the sun is screaming my name.  

The sun is so awesome.  I don’t know how we live in Seattle….ugh….anyway, please enjoy some honeymoon posts and we’ll get back to everything wedding soon.
